By accessing or using Lalia Marketplace ("laliamarket.com"), operated by Lalia Inc., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, you may not use our platform.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
To purchase products or sell on Lalia Market, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Lalia Market reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
Lalia Market is a marketplace platform that connects buyers with independent vendors. Lalia Market is not the seller of the products listed on the platform. Each vendor is independently responsible for their products, descriptions, pricing, fulfillment, and customer service.
Users agree not to: use the platform for any unlawful purpose; post false or misleading product information; manipulate reviews or ratings; circumvent the platform's payment system; harass other users; or upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
All transactions are processed through Stripe, our payment processor. Prices are displayed in the currency selected by the buyer, with estimated shipping and applicable taxes shown at checkout. By completing a purchase, you authorize the total charge displayed.
Lalia Market facilitates the transaction between buyer and vendor. Refund and return policies are governed by individual vendor policies as well as our platform-wide return guidelines. Buyers may request returns within 14 days of delivery for most products.
Vendors are responsible for: accurately describing their products; fulfilling orders within stated handling times; providing tracking information when available; responding to buyer inquiries in a timely manner; and complying with all applicable laws in their jurisdiction.
Vendors must not list prohibited items, misrepresent product origins, or engage in deceptive pricing practices. Vendor accounts are subject to the separate Seller Agreement in addition to these Terms.
The Lalia Market name, logo, and all platform content (excluding user-generated content) are the property of Lalia Inc. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform content without written permission.
Vendors retain ownership of their product images, descriptions, and brand content uploaded to the platform. By uploading content, vendors grant Lalia Market a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and promote their listings on the platform and in marketing materials.
Lalia Market provides the platform on an "as-is" basis. We make no warranties regarding the quality, safety, or legality of items listed by vendors. Lalia Market is not liable for vendor actions, product defects, shipping delays, or disputes between buyers and vendors beyond our stated dispute resolution process.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lalia Market's total liability to any user for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount paid by or to that user through the platform in the twelve months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings must be brought in the courts located in Delaware.
If a dispute arises between a buyer and a vendor, we encourage both parties to first attempt resolution through our platform's dispute system. Lalia Market may mediate disputes at its discretion and make binding determinations regarding refunds or order cancellations.
For disputes between you and Lalia Market, you agree to first contact us at legal@laliamarket.com to attempt informal resolution. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated terms on the platform and, for registered users, by sending an email notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Lalia Market is a curated marketplace. All products and vendor applications are reviewed for marketplace fit and cultural alignment. We welcome vendors of any background whose products authentically serve, represent, or celebrate African and diaspora communities.
Products that align with our marketplace include, but are not limited to: African fashion and textiles, textured hair products and wigs, culturally relevant beauty and skincare, African and diaspora foods, Afrocentric home decor, faith and spirituality products relevant to the community, art, crafts, jewelry, books, and culturally aligned lifestyle products.
Products that do not align with our marketplace include: unrelated electronics, generic appliances, mass-produced goods with no cultural relevance, low-effort dropshipping, generic marketplace clutter, and unrelated print-on-demand spam.
Lalia Market reserves the right to reject listings, suspend vendor accounts, remove products, or deny approval for products that do not align with our marketplace identity, are unrelated to African or diaspora culture, are generic mass retail items, or dilute marketplace quality and relevance.
Country of manufacture alone does not determine eligibility. Products may be globally manufactured while still being culturally relevant. Marketplace approval is based on overall cultural alignment and platform fit, not the demographics of the seller.
