This Seller Agreement ("Agreement") governs your relationship with Lalia Inc. ("Lalia," "we," "us") when you sell products on laliamarket.com (the "Platform"). By completing vendor registration, you agree to the terms outlined below, in addition to our general Terms of Service.
Lalia is a marketplace for Black-owned businesses across Africa and the African diaspora. To sell on Lalia, you must operate a legitimate business, be at least 18 years old, and be able to receive payments through Stripe Connect in your country of operation.
All vendor applications are reviewed by our team. We verify business information and may request additional documentation before approving your shop. Lalia reserves the right to decline applications that do not meet our standards.
Lalia operates on a commission-only model. There are no monthly subscription fees, listing fees, or setup costs. You only pay when you make a sale.
Our standard commission rate is deducted from each transaction. The exact rate is communicated during your onboarding process and is visible in your vendor dashboard. Commission is calculated on the product price excluding shipping costs.
Lalia reserves the right to adjust commission rates with 30 days' written notice. Any rate changes will not apply to orders already in progress.
All products listed on Lalia must meet the following standards:
The following items may not be listed on Lalia:
Vendors are responsible for shipping products to buyers within the handling time specified in their shipping profile. Default handling time is 3 business days unless otherwise stated in your settings.
You must provide accurate shipping rates for the regions you serve. Shipping profiles are configured in your vendor dashboard and must reflect actual shipping costs. Overcharging on shipping to offset lower product prices is not permitted.
Where possible, provide tracking numbers for shipped orders. Orders without tracking information may be subject to buyer disputes that Lalia resolves in the buyer's favor.
Payouts are processed through Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe's identity verification and connect a valid bank account to receive payouts. Lalia deducts its commission before transferring funds to your Stripe account.
For single-vendor orders, funds are routed directly to your Stripe account with the platform commission deducted automatically. For multi-vendor orders, payouts are processed after a brief escrow period to allow for potential cancellations or disputes. Payout schedules are determined by Stripe based on your account history and country.
You retain full ownership of your product images, descriptions, and brand content. By listing on Lalia, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content on the platform and in promotional materials (including social media, email marketing, and advertising).
You represent and warrant that all content you upload does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party. If we receive a valid intellectual property complaint about your listing, we may remove it immediately and notify you.
Lalia may suspend or terminate your vendor account for the following reasons:
If your account is suspended, pending payouts will be held until any outstanding disputes are resolved. You may appeal a suspension by contacting our vendor support team. If your account is terminated, you may withdraw any remaining balance owed to you after deducting pending refunds and chargebacks.
Lalia charges no monthly fees, no listing fees, and no setup costs. The only cost to sellers is the per-transaction commission deducted at the time of sale. Stripe's standard payment processing fees (approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) are separate from Lalia's commission and are deducted by Stripe directly.
If Lalia introduces additional optional services (such as promoted listings or advertising), those will be offered at clearly stated prices with no obligation to purchase.
We may update this Seller Agreement from time to time. We will notify all active vendors via email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
